[jira] Created: (CAMEL-845) Add header in timer component with System.currentTimeMillis()

JIRA jira@apache.org
Add header in timer component with System.currentTimeMillis()
-------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: CAMEL-845
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/activemq/browse/CAMEL-845
             Project: Apache Camel
          Issue Type: Wish
          Components: camel-core
            Reporter: Drazen Kozic
            Priority: Trivial

It would be nice if timer component add some header with System.currentTimeMillis() value.
I suggest name of header timer.currentTimeMillis.
Adding header value should be optional. Uri parameter currentTimeMillis=true/false should regulate setting this header value.

This header value would be very useful for debugging purposes and other purposes (generating simple unique values).

Also, there is need for formating this value: just simple long value or String formated with ISO datetime pattern (yyyy-MM-dd hh:mm:ss)

Claus Ibsen commented on CAMEL-845:
-----------------------------------

Document the headers that camel-timer adds to the exchange in the wiki

There are already 3 headers. Add the new current time millis as suggested.

the quartz component already has all this info straight from quartz. Just need to add it to the wiki.

[jira] Resolved: (CAMEL-845) Add header in timer component with System.currentTimeMillis()

In reply to this post by JIRA jira@apache.org

Claus Ibsen resolved CAMEL-845.
-------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Added wiki documentation for camel-quartz as it already have the fire time as a header (fireTime) on the message object itself. See the wiki documentation.

Hi Hadrian

Sorry it was not to be rude, but I had the jira overview in my browser and just clicked assign to me, and the page hasn't been refreshed for a while and thus I didn't see that you had assigned it already.

If JIRA could have warned me ;)

Med venlig hilsen

Claus Ibsen
